Welcome to the Cheviot Hills Challenge

The Cheviot Hills Challenge is on Peter and Ange Montgomery's farmland, Reserve Board and Hurunui District Council's walkway. Please stay on the designated track.

The course is set up so you will not encounter vehicular traffic, however adjacent roads remain open. Riders will be disqualified if seen riding on the seal of Gore Bay Road - keep to the track.

You are required to wear a safety helmet at all times during the event and while warming up.

One lap is 6.5km.

Race Briefing

You must attend with your race number tied to your bike and visible at all times during the event. If the event is cancelled, a partial refund will be made at the organiser's discretion. In the event of a rider having an accident, you must stop to assist and report the accident to the first marshall or St Johns personnel you get to.

Directions

First option until 11am.
Turn off State Highway 1 at the Jed River Bridge just before you enter Cheviot Township.

Second option after 11am.
Go to the centre of Cheviot and turn right down McQueen Road, then right into Gore Bay Road. The turn-off to Cheviot Hills Reserve is 1.2km from the centre of Cheviot.
